History never looked this good.

Step through the front door of The Clements House and into a story that started more than a century ago — with a war hero, a pioneering family, and a stretch of Delta land so rich it practically hums.

These days, you’ll still feel the spirit of that history in every room… but now it comes wrapped in bold color, vintage finds, and just the right amount of wild.

Vicki Murray, the great-granddaughter of Dr. E.C. and Anne Foote Clements, has lovingly restored and reimagined the home into a getaway that’s anything but ordinary. Every corner tells a story — and every story has a splash of pattern, a pop of paint, and a personality all its own.

So come on in. Kick off your boots (or your heels). Whether you’re here for a Delta Blues pilgrimage, a duck hunt, or a weekend away from the ordinary — you’ll find something unforgettable waiting inside.

From Civil War tales to wild wallpaper — meet the Delta’s most colorful history lesson.

Built in 1891 by Anne Foote Clements — daughter of Judge Hezekiah Foote, one of Rolling Fork’s early settlers — The Clements House stands as a testament to resilience and Southern spirit. Anne and her husband, Dr. E.C. Clements, first lived in another home nearby that was lost to fire. Determined to rebuild, Anne oversaw the construction of the new family home in 1891, which was beautifully remodeled in 1899.

Over the decades, the house has witnessed love, loss, laughter, and more family gatherings than anyone could count. Today, more than a century later, The Clements House still stands strong — not as a museum, but as a living piece of Delta history, lovingly restored and ready to welcome guests from near and far.

A vintage bathroom featuring black and gold wallpaper, a black clawfoot bathtub with a clear shower curtain, a white toilet, a pedestal sink, a wooden side table, a chandelier, and a window with blinds.

A little bit historic. A little bit eccentric. 100% unforgettable.

You’ll find a full serving of Southern hospitality here — with a side of mischief and maximalism. Each guest room has its own personality, from vintage treasures to bold patterns that turn every corner into a photo worth keeping.

Lounge in a velvet chair that looks like it was borrowed from your wildest dream, swap stories on the porch while the Delta sunset does its thing, or just slow down and soak in the charm that makes this house feel alive.

  • Porch swings and conversation corners galore

  • A stay that feels anything but ordinary

It’s not just a place to sleep — it’s an experience that lingers long after you’ve packed your bags.

SEE THE ROOMS

Owner. Restorer. Maximalist mastermind.

Vicki Murray doesn’t just preserve history — she gives it a new wardrobe.

As the great-granddaughter of Dr. E.C. and Anne Foote Clements, she grew up hearing stories of the home, the family, and the land that shaped them all. When she brought The Clements House back to life, she made sure it reflected both its roots and her own unapologetically creative style.

Funky chairs? Check. Bold color palettes? Absolutely. Unexpected combinations that somehow just work? Everywhere you look.

The result? A space that feels like stepping into a Southern time capsule designed by your most artistic, slightly rebellious aunt — and you’re going to love every inch of it.

A woman with short gray hair, wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and gray pants, stands smiling in front of a red sandstone stone wall outdoors under a partly cloudy sky. She has a camera hanging from her neck.
